North Bridge Academy is a non-profit school with the mission to educate high functioning dyslexic children. It is the goal of the board of directors to serve Marin and surrounding communities north of the Golden Gate bridge. We are located in Redwoods Presbyterian, in Larkspur, California. We serve Marin communities from Mill Valley to Novato, Sonoma County, San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area cities.
North Bridge Academy is founded on the belief that dyslexic learners can learn the same material as their non-dyslexic counterparts, they just learn it differently. Often dyslexic students are capable of levels of achievement they previously have not been able to demonstrate. Grounded in these beliefs, we have set out to establish a school to teach dyslexic students in ways they were meant to learn by using multi-sensory, sequential, phonics-based instruction tailored to meet their individual learning profiles. Class sizes will be small and students will be supported by teachers with specialized credentials.
We are a small school with a student body of 30 students, grades 3-7. In 2018-19, we will expand to 8th grade.
